A SPECIAL INVITATION! Eager to get started? Parents’ Council members and guests are invited to kick off Founder’s Weekend early as special guests at the Lehigh Volunteer Summit. Sit in on a pre-lunch keynote alongside dedicated alumni and volunteers to hear the latest updates from President John D. Simon ’19P and Jennifer Cunningham, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations. The session offers another great opportunity to connect with long-time members of the Lehigh family and hear from university leadership.

The Volunteer Summit is a two-day event that provides an opportunity for members of Lehigh's volunteer community to come together and learn about Lehigh today, discuss best practices for their volunteer commitments, and celebrate their many contributions. The Summit will offer networking opportunities for and with volunteers and administrators, in addition to training and skill development.

Do you and your student talk about career interests? Do you often ask what internships or jobs your student is looking for? If so, this session is for you! Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the university’s recruiting platform, Handshake, and the student-alumni mentoring platform, Lehigh Connects. We’ll also talk to you about Lehigh’s career coaching philosophy and our NEW career education recognition program. You’ll have the chance to tour our NEW office. Students should begin using our center no later than their sophomore year. Join us for information sessions on the half hour, and learn how to support your student’s success.

The great American poet Walt Whitman celebrates his 200th birthday in 2019. Whitman is known across the world as an innovator in free verse poetry, as a powerful voice in support of democracy, and as a representative of outsiders from a variety of backgrounds. Lehigh is in a unique position to join this celebration with its world-class Whitman holdings, including multiple first and significant later editions. Also on display are works by Whitman’s bohemian contemporaries and writers who have drawn inspiration from him. Tours offered at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Parents’ Council members are invited to join faculty, students, and campus leaders for a one-day meeting featuring informative sessions on the Lehigh student experience, dialogue around key campus issues, and networking with fellow Council members. Students who are receiving need-based financial aid must re-submit the FAFSA, CSS and updated tax forms each year. The Office of Financial Aid is hosting a workshop to assist you with this process. Stop by between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to complete your financial aid application. Counselors will be on hand to provide guidance and assist in answering questions you have about the application materials. Space is limited so RSVPs are encouraged.
