Hagerman Lecture - Freedom of Expression in Polarized Times: The Best Attainable Version of the Truth
A Conversation with Carl Bernstein & Robert Kagan

In an era of deep political division and contested realities, Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Carl Bernstein, co-author of All the President’s Men, and historian and author Robert Kagan, a leading voice on democracy and foreign policy, come together on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Wood Dining Room of the Iacocca Conference Center for Lehigh University’s Hagerman Lecture to examine the meaning, limits, and necessity of free expression. Drawing on decades of experience reporting on power, politics, and democratic institutions, they will explore how truth is pursued, challenged, and defended in polarized times, and what it means to strive for the best attainable version of the truth.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
